— BEDFORD, Pa. — Pennsylvania State Police at Bedford investigated two telephone scams reported by county residents who received phone calls claiming that they had won an international lottery earlier this month.

One of the victims said the call was from a Jamaican phone number and that he purchased prepaid credit cards worth $2,440 to claim a prize of more than $1 million.

The other victim also purchased a prepaid credit card to claim his prize. Both victims provided the card numbers over the phone to the fraudulent caller, police said.
