Two people injured in Garrett crash - 04/12

— OAKLAND — Two people were taken to Garrett County Memorial Hospital following a two-vehicle crash Monday on Garrett Highway, according to the Garrett County Sheriff’s Office.

Stacey Rocha of Aurora, W.Va., was taken to the hospital by Southern Garrett Rescue Squad, and Sherry Ferguson, 54, was taken there by Northern Garrett Rescue Squad.

No information was available concerning the extent of injuries to either party.

Police said Michael H. Rocha of Aurora was driving his 2008 Chevrolet Colorado north of Garrett Highway when he was struck by a 1998 Ford Explorer driven by Ferguson and turning left into a parking lot.

Police said Ferguson was cited for failure to yield to oncoming traffic on left turn and driving without a license.

Michael Rocha was cited for driving without current tags.

Oakland Volunteer Fire Department also responded to the 8:40 a.m. crash.
