GRANTSVILLE — Police are attempting to locate a Chevrolet or General Motors truck that was shown on surveillance camera in connection with the theft of two sets of wheels from 2013 model vehicles at Diehl’s Ford dealership last March.
The Garrett County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the March 30 theft that occurred at the business at 11782 National Pike at 4:30 a.m., when the suspects stole complete sets of wheels and tires from two 2013 Ford Edge vehicles parked just outside the dealership.
Police said the suspects reportedly used and damaged tailgates from other new vehicles on the lot to prop up the Edge vehicles as they removed the wheels, police said.
The suspect vehicle being sought is a late 1980s or 90s Chevrolet or General Motors, S10 or GMC model, possibly red, dark red, maroon or brownish in color.
The suspect vehicle contained a regular cab with an added on sun visor, chrome/steel mirror on driver’s door, chrome rear and front bumpers, no running boards, no front tag and possibly having minor damage or paint damage on the lower center area of the driver’s door. The vehicle is possibly a two-wheel drive model.
