CUMBERLAND — A city man was arrested Tuesday after he failed to stop at a city intersection and struck a vehicle that had stopped for a red light, Cumberland Police said.
Robert Wayne Burkett, 58, was charged with driving under the influence and driving with license privileges revoked. He was released later, pending trial in district court.
The mishap occurred at 11:27 a.m. at the intersection of Henderson Avenue and Valley Street. There were no injuries.
The arrest was made after an investigating officer detected an odor of alcohol and Burkett was given sobriety tests at the scene.
