Child injured by vehicle, driver cited - 11/10

— CUMBERLAND — A

child was injured and taken

to the hospital after being

struck by a vehicle at Oldtown

Road and Arch Street

early Friday evening, Cumberland

Police said.

The child, whose age was

not provided, suffered a foot

injury in the 6:26 p.m. incident

and was taken to the

Western Maryland Regional

Medical Center by a Cumberland

Fire Department

ambulance following initial

medical treatment at the

scene.

No information was available

on the child’s injuries

and medical condition.

The driver, Nicole Bright,

29, city, was issued a citation

for driving with license privileges

suspended and

released. Her vehicle was

released later to a valid driver,

police said.

The incident occurred

when the child ran out into

the roadway of Oldtown

Road into the path of the

vehicle being operated by

Bright, who attempted to

stop her vehicle upon

observing the child, police

said.
