MCHENRY — A 2000 model Mack dump truck of the Foote Excavating company was damaged by an accidental fire Tuesday in the 1800 block of Bumblebee Road, according to the Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office.
The incident occurred at about 6:45 p.m. when fire broke out in the engine compartment due to an electrical short in battery wiring, according to Deputy Fire Mashal Ryan Chapman.
The property loss was estimated at $25,000.
Deep Creek Volunteer Fire Department controlled the fire upon alert by the Garrett County 911 center.
The fire was discovered by a neighbor. There were no injuries.
