CUMBERLAND — Last week’s cold snap that pushed temperatures below zero reportedly claimed the life of a man in Allegany County.
The Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene said Wednesday that a man who was 65 years old or older died in the county.
The state did not release a date or exact location of the death.
Allegany County Health Department spokeswoman Brenda Caldwell said the county was made aware of the death but had no further details.
Police agencies in the county said they had not received any reports of a cold weather death.
The state said there have now been seven cold weather-related deaths this winter.
