— BEDFORD, Pa. — A Cumberland woman running alongside Evitts Creek Road on Sunday was struck and injured by a vehicle, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

Sue A. Moessinger, 47, was transported by Cumberland Valley EMS to the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center following the 1:30 p.m. incident, police said.

Police said Moessinger was running north when a 2008 GMC Sierra driven by Charles L. Barb II, 47, Bedford, approached from behind. Before passing Moessinger, Barb honked his horn.

According to police, Barb had moved into the southbound lane to avoid the runner, but at the sound of the horn Moessinger jumped into the southbound lane and was struck.

Barb was not charged with any violations.
