CUMBERLAND — A Cumberland man was arrested Saturday night after he wrecked his vehicle in Corriganville, not long after he allegedly struck an unoccupied vehicle in the city and drove away, Cumberland Police said.
Timothy Perdew, 29, was cited for failure to remain at the scene of a property damage motor vehicle collision with additional charges pending by the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office.
Perdew apparently es-caped injuries in the state Route 36 crash that occurred a short time after the 9 p.m. hit-and-run crash in the area of Valley Street and Henderson Boulevard.
The sheriff’s office is also investigating the hit-and-run damage of one of its patrol cars in the 300 block of National Highway. That incident occurred at 5:20 p.m. Sunday.
A vehicle was traveling westbound in traffic when it struck the driver’s side door of the patrol car with its mirror. The patrol vehicle was stopped on the shoulder of the highway when it was struck.
The suspect vehicle was said to be a Ford model with its side mirror missing, according to the sheriff’s office.
Anyone with information in the case may call the sheriff’s office at 301-777-5959 or contact Deputy I.S. Sibley at 240-580-0907.
