— BEDFORD, Pa. — Pennsylvania State Police at Bedford wants residents to be aware of a potential telephone scam where the caller claims to be from a large Internet/phone company.

The caller asks the person to dial 555 and provide information in order to retain points.

Police caution residents not to provide personal information if they don’t know who is making the call. It is advised to call the company using a published phone number to verify any questional requests for personal information.
