ROMNEY, W.Va. — A Cumberland man was arrested in Hampshire County on Sunday as a fugitive from Maryland, West Virginia State Police said.
Orlando C. Meade, 37, was jailed in the Potomac Highlands Regional Jail in Augusta pending extradition to Maryland.
Meade is wanted in Allegany County on multiple charges of failing to register as a sex offender and violation of probation.
The arrest was made at about 7 p.m. at a residence in Delray.
Police also arrested Darlene Shingler, 40, of Delray on a charge of providing false information to West Virginia State Police.
Shingler remained jailed Monday afternoon at the regional jail on $200 bond set by a Hampshire County magistrate, according to the regional jail website.
