— CUMBERLAND — A 13-year-old boy suffered a leg injury Tuesday when he reportedly rode his bicycle into the path of an automobile at South and East Second streets.

Cumberland Police said the youth was taken to the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center by a Cumberland Fire Department ambulance following the 6:36 p.m. accident.

Police said the youth rode his bicycle into the path of a 2002 Mazda passenger vehicle operated by Ron Claggett Jr., 23.

Claggett was unable to stop his vehicle to avoid striking the youth, police said.
