CUMBERLAND — A city man was arrested on drunken driving charges Sunday after he lost control of his vehicle on Interstate 68 and struck a median wall, according to the Cumberland Police Department.
Police said William Scott Edwards, 35, was driving a 2001 Chevrolet when his vehicle “spun out” and struck the median. Edwards apparently was not injured.
Investigating officers administered field sobriety tests and then arrested Edwards on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and related offenses. A witness of the crash also provided information in the investigation.
After being issued a citation, Edwards was released, pending trial in district court.
The crash occurred in the westbound lanes near Beall Street at 10:33 a.m., police said.
