— CUMBERLAND — A single-vehicle accident Wednesday at a Broadford Road intersection injured an Oakland man who was flown to the Western Maryland Re-gional Medical Center for treatment of injuries, according to the Garrett County Sheriff’s Office.

Jonathan L. Booska, 37, suffered unknown injuries in the 2:45 p.m. crash that occurred at Broad and Pysell Crosscut roads, police said.

Booska was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Blazer at an apparent high rate of speed when he lost control of his vehicle, causing it to leave the roadway where it struck an embankment, police said.

Maryland State Police medevac helicopter took Booska to the hospital. Southern Garrett Rescue Squad and Deer Park Volunteer Fire Department also responded.

The accident remains under investigation with charges pending, police said.
