CUMBERLAND — Alleged assault of a youth on Virginia Avenue on Thursday afternoon led to the arrest of a juvenile and an 18-year-old city man.
A warrant was also issued for a third suspect who remained at large Friday, according to the Cumberland Police Department.
A motorist flagged down a city officer at about 3:30 p.m. to report that she had witnessed an assault on Virginia Avenue near Queen Street. She said three suspects ran when she yelled at them from her vehicle.
The victim was located a short time later by Cumberland Police and suspects were identified.
The victim told police he was attacked from behind by three suspects who stole his iPod.
Police arrested a youth at a Springdale Street residence and charged him with various offenses. He was placed in the custody of juvenile authorities.
Police also arrested Joshua Clark, 18, on charges of second-degree assault, theft less than $1,000 and disorderly conduct.
Clark remained jailed Friday afternoon on $35,000 bond.
A warrant was obtained for the arrest of Matthew Ryan Glaze, whom police were attempting to locate Friday.
