— OLDTOWN — A 28-year-old Hyndman, Pa., man who traveled to Oldtown with the intent of having sex with two teenage girls early Sunday was charged with two counts of second-degree assault after he got into an argument with the girls and their older siblings, according to C3I.

William Martin Bowles also was charged with two counts of sexual solicitation of a minor, police said.

Allegany County sheriff’s deputies who responded to a neighbor’s complaint at 2:45 a.m. on Brice Hollow Road learned that Bowles and the 13- and 14-year-old girls had made plans via Facebook on the Internet to meet in order to have sex.

C3I investigators were requested and the neighbor blocked Bowles’ vehicle. During the argument, Bowles allegedly assaulted one of the girls and an older sibling.

Investigators were able to review the contents of some of the online communications before charging Bowles. He was held at the Allegany County Detention Center on $25,000 bond.
