CUMBERLAND — Two city residents were arrested on warrants Tuesday and new charges were filed when one of them attempted to flee from police.
Cumberland Police charged Misty Dawn Jenkins, 35, with attempted affray and disturbing the peace.
Joseph William Wood, 34, was charged with affray, disorderly conduct and disturbing the peace through the outstanding warrant.
In addition, Wood was charged with resisting arrest and obstructing and hindering police.
Police said the arrests were made near the Western Maryland Railway Station and the Potomac River.
Wood swam away from police but was apprehended a short time after he came out of the river and following a foot chase.
Charges in the warrants stemmed from an incident on April 6 at Baltimore Avenue and Decatur Street.
Following bond hearings, Jenkins was jailed on $1,000 bond and Wood on $8,000 bond.
