Wintry weather brings outages - 12/23

— CUMBERLAND  (AP) — A combination of snow and strong wind gusts caused power outages throughout the day Saturday in Western Maryland.

Potomac Edison’s website showed more than 1,200 customers in Garrett and Allegany counties without power as of about 7 p.m.

Garrett County Commissioner James Raley said that even though there were blizzard-like conditions at times, the storm was pretty routine for the area and that most of the roads were passable by the morning.
