CUMBERLAND — A Cumberland woman who allegedly assaulted her 16-year-old daughter Sunday afternoon stomped on an officer’s foot as the arrest was being made, according to Cumberland Police.
Patricia Jane Dye, 49, was charged with three counts of assault, disturbing the peace and disorderly conduct following the 1 p.m. incident in the 500 block of Maryland Avenue.
Dye’s daughter told police that her mother struck her in the face with an open hand. When the girl’s friend tried to intervene, Dye allegedly pushed the friend. Arrangements were made for the daughter to leave with a family member and juvenile services was notified.
No one was injured during the incident. Dye was released on her personal recognizance by a district court commissioner.
