SALISBURY, Pa. — A passenger who allegedly hit the driver in the face, causing him to lose control of the car, was charged with harassment by Pennsylvania State Police.
Rhonda Y. Guthrie, 42, of Salisbury was taken to the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center following the Tuesday crash at 4:20 p.m. on U.S. Route 219 south of Oester Lane with moderate injuries, according to police.
The driver, Dale E. Guthrie, 49, of Salisbury and an 11-year-old Salisbury boy were also taken to the hospital with minor injuries, police said.
Dale Guthrie was negotiating a curve in the northbound lane when the argument took place, police said. He lost control of the 2005 Honda Element, which spun around, and hit a tree.
Salisbury EMS and Meyersdale EMS transported the patients, who were all wearing seat belts. Salisbury Volunteer Fire Department also responded.
