ACCIDENT — A bomb threat written on a bathroom stall forced evacuation at Northern Middle School at about 9 a.m. Tuesday, according to the Garrett County Board of Education.
Students were immediately evacuated to Northern High School after the threat was discovered.
The Garrett County Sheriff’s Office and Maryland State Police were notified. Bomb-sniffing dogs were requested from law enforcement in Cumberland.
Students were served lunch at Northern High until law enforcement cleared the building for a safe return to the middle school at about 1 p.m., according to a board of education spokesman.
Police are continuing to investigate the incident to identify the person responsible for the threat.
