CUMBERLAND — A Spruce Street man was arrested on an illegal weapons charge Friday after police executed a search warrant at his home a day earlier.
As a result, members of the Maryland State Police Firearms Unit obtained an arrest warrant for 59-year-old Robert Damean Cendo.
The search warrant was the result of information that had been developed that the resident, who was precluded from owning firearms due to a previous criminal conviction, was in possession of several regulated firearms.
Investigators recovered several firearms during the search, police said.
He was granted pre-trial release Monday after posting $35,000 bond set by a district court commissioner, according to court records.
Cumberland Police and the C3I Unit also assisted state police.
