CUMBERLAND — Two Kentucky men were charged with drug distribution charges following a traffic stop Sunday evening on westbound Interstate 68, according to the Cumberland Police Department.
Lester C. Wellman, 20, of Inez was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia following the 6:46 p.m. stop.
Jeffery B. Maynard, 21, also of Inez, was charged with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Both men remained jailed late Monday morning on $25,000 bond at the Allegany County Detention Center.
Police said the vehicle was stopped for an alleged equipment violation. Upon detecting an odor of burnt marijuana, police discovered four individually wrapped baggies of crack cocaine and approximately 90 grams of marijuana.
