BEDFORD, Pa. — A 51-
year-old Hyndman man was
arrested late Friday night
when he was forcibly
removed from his Cooks
Mill Road residence by a
Pennsylvania State Police
Richard Alan Mauzy was
taken to the Bedford Memorial
Hospital for treatment
of a pre-existing medical
condition following his
arrest at his residence in
the 1600 block of Cooks Mill
Road in Londonderry Township,
Police arriving at the
scene surrounded the residence
when they responded
to a report of “terroristic
threats and recklessly
endangering another person.”
After numerous attempts
to contact Mauzy failed, the
SERT team was activated.
Negotiators of the SERT
team attempted to negotiate
with Mauzy but were unsuccessful.
Police then executed
pre-existing arrest and
search warrants, entered
the residence and took
Mauzy into custody without
