Cumberland Times-News

— BEDFORD, Pa. — A 51-

year-old Hyndman man was

arrested late Friday night

when he was forcibly

removed from his Cooks

Mill Road residence by a

Pennsylvania State Police

Special Emergency

Response Team.

Richard Alan Mauzy was

taken to the Bedford Memorial

Hospital for treatment

of a pre-existing medical

condition following his

arrest at his residence in

the 1600 block of Cooks Mill

Road in Londonderry Township,

police said.

Police arriving at the

scene surrounded the residence

when they responded

to a report of “terroristic

threats and recklessly

endangering another person.”

After numerous attempts

to contact Mauzy failed, the

SERT team was activated.

Negotiators of the SERT

team attempted to negotiate

with Mauzy but were unsuccessful.

Police then executed

pre-existing arrest and

search warrants, entered

the residence and took

Mauzy into custody without

incident.

The incident remains

under investigation, police

said.
