12,000 calls for Garrett County deputies last year - 01/31

— OAKLAND — A year-end summary of the Garrett County Sheriff’s Office shows the office handled 12,019 calls for service last year, according to Sheriff Rob Corley.

The calls included 1,067 general arrests, 112 drunken driving arrests and 98 drug arrests.

The sheriff’s office also investigated 132 assault complaints and 60 domestic assault calls.

Officers also investigated 104 burglary complaints and 13 motor vehicle thefts last year.

There were 47 felony investigations and 215 misdemeanor theft investigations logged by the sheriff’s office in 2013.

Officers served 3,247 court papers during the 12-month period.

Patrol officers conducted 1,104 town patrols last year.
