CUMBERLAND — Two domestic complaints in a one-hour period late Wednesday led to the arrest of a 35-year-old city man.
Gary Lee Smith was charged with second-degree assault, failure to obey a lawful order and disturbance of the peace after police were called to the 300 block of Pennsylvania Avenue at 10:15 p.m. and again at 11:25 p.m.
In both incidents, Smith allegedly assaulted a female victim by grabbing her.
No injuries were observed in the initial complaint and Smith was ordered by police to stay away from the victim.
Smith returned to the scene and officers made the arrest without further incident.
The victim apparently did not require medical treatment.
Smith remained jailed Thursday on $3,000 bond.
