City man jailed in South End incident - 04/28

— CUMBERLAND — A city man was jailed Friday night after he allegedly assaulted and refused to let a woman out of his vehicle on Lafayette Avenue, Cumberland Police said.

The incident was reported at about 7:30 p.m., prompting the arrest minutes later of Glenn Westfall, 29, as he was found walking along the Canal Parkway.

Police charged Westfall with unlawful detention, reckless endangerment, second-degree assault, attempt to obtain unauthorized possession of a vehicle, theft less than $100, disorderly conduct, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Westfall remained jailed Saturday afternoon at the Allegany County Detention Center on bond of $10,000 set by a district court commissioner.
