CUMBERLAND — An Ohio man was injured when he lost control and overturned his tractor-trailer late Sunday on eastbound Interstate 68 at Christie Road, according to Maryland State Police.
Paul Carpenter, 55, reportedly suffered minor injuries and was taken to the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center following the 9:05 p.m. crash, police said.
Carpenter was driving a tractor-trailer with a load of rolled metal on the flatbed trailer when the rig overturned, causing extensive damage to the roadway and concrete barrier wall.
The crash closed eastbound and westbound lanes of the interstate for three hours.
Police said Carpenter was cited for the incident.
Baltimore Pike and Bedford Road volunteer fire department and Bowman’s Addition ambulance re-sponded along with State Highway Administration personnel, according to the Allegany County 911 center.
