— CUMBERLAND — A report of a suspicious vehicle in the former Memorial Hospital parking garage on Memorial Avenue led to the arrest of a Paw Paw, W.Va., man Wednesday.

Ceiling tiles in the area were damaged and copper pipe and metal conduit coils were found inside the vehicle.

Cumberland Police found 32-year-old David James Small in a stairwell of the garage.

Small reportedly gave permission to check his vehicle. The copper materials were removed along with a hypodermic syringe, police said.

Small was charged with fourth-degree burglary, theft, destruction of property and possession of drug paraphernalia before he was released on $4,000 bond.
