Frostburg resident allegedly pulls BB gun

Marijuana found in his backpack, authorities say

FROSTBURG — Frostburg Police arrested a 25-year-old Frostburg man early Saturday morning after he allegedly pointed a BB pistol at people in the 7-Eleven store on East Main Street.

Modou Sey was charged with first- and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, concealing a dangerous weapon, possession with intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance and posession of drug paraphernalia, according to police.

It was found that Sey also was wanted by authorities on an arrest warrant for failure to appear.

Police responded to the store at 2:30 a.m. after a report of a subject pointing a handgun at several individuals in the business. Police said Sey had been in an argument at Wild Things restaurant and bar, which continued in the convenience store. One of the people involved in the squabble was able to wrestle the weapon away from Sey and throw it behind the counter.

Sey was carrying a backpack, in which police said they found suspected marijuana and other items.

He was being held in the Allegany County Detention Center on $70,000 bond.
