Police arrest two in city assault complaints - 02/04

CUMBERLAND — City police were sent to two separate assault complaints only one minute apart late Friday night.

At 11:10 p.m., officers were dispatched to a residence on Race Street and were able to separate both parties involved. Jessica Lynn Hinzman, 29, allegedly stabbed the victim on the hand and forearm using a broken picture frame. She was charged with second-degree assault and released on $3,000 bond.

The assault occurred during an argument and was witnessed by others in the building. The victim suffered only minor injuries that did not require medical attention, police said.

At 11:11 p.m., officers were dispatched to a Grand Avenue residence and interviewed both parties involved. The victim alleged that William F. Wagner IV, 46, struck her repeatedly with a golf club during an argument over a computer and child’s car seat. Wagner was charged with two counts of assault and one of reckless endangerment. He was held in the Allegany County Detention Center on $3,500 bond.

Police observed injuries to the victim’s hand.
