Charges pending in McHenry burglary - 02/02

MCHENRY — Charges are pending against a suspect developed in the investigation of the Jan. 22 burglary of the Deep Creek Pharmacy at McHenry Plaza, Maryland State Police said.

The incident occurred at about 4 a.m. when a brick was thrown through the front glass window to access the business.

A suspicious vehicle, described as a gray or silver mid-size car, was seen in the area at the time of the burglary. This vehicle reportedly had damage to the left rear quarter panel and the rear bumper fascia/cover was missing from the vehicle, exposing the metal frame.

Troopers located the suspect vehicle on Jan. 23 in Oakland and identified it as a silver 2007 Nissan Sentra bearing Maryland registration.

A suspect was developed and interviewed at the state police barrack in McHenry. He was released and charges are pending the results of forensic analysis of physical evidence recovered from the scene and from the suspect.

Police said the suspect vehicle was positively identified by a witness as the vehicle in the area of the Deep Creek Pharmacy during the time of the burglary.

The incident remains under investigation.
