CUMBERLAND — Police reportedly found a stolen semiautomatic handgun Thursday when they searched the Memorial Avenue apartment of a man who is a suspect in a domestic violence case.
Terrell Geron Epps, 30, was taken into custody when he went to the Cumberland Police Department after allegedly being involved in a disturbance in the 200 block of Memorial Avenue at 12:30 a.m.
The female victim told police that Epps had strangled, punched and kicked her but she was able to run to a neighbor’s house. Officers observed injuries to the victim, who told police that Epps had pointed a handgun at her head last week.
The handgun police found in Epps’ apartment had been reported stolen from a residence on Humbird Street in July 2012.
Epps was charged with three counts of assault, illegal possession of a regulated firearm, reckless endangerment and theft. He was held in the Allegany County Detention Center on $100,000 bond.
