CUMBERLAND — A Cumberland man was arrrested Saturday on drug and theft charges after police said he was operating a vehicle that was reported stolen on Thursday.
Darryle Robbins Hart, 37, of Cumberland was arrested on Wineow Street after an off-duty sheriff’s deputy spotted the vehicle and notified Cumberland Police.
During a search of the vehicle, various items were located in the trunk that are commonly used to manufacture controlled dangerous substances1, police said. The items were collected as evidence and sent to the Maryland State Police lab for further testing.
Hart was charged with theft over $10,000, vehicle rental failure to return and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
He was being held on $15,000 bond at the Allegany County Detention Center.
