KEYSER, W.Va. — A Preston County man was arrested Thursday night when Keyser Police stopped his vehicle and found two loaded handguns on the floorboard of the vehicle.
Keyser Police made the stop at South Main Street and Fort Avenue just before 11 p.m., after the vehicle was observed being driven in an erratic manner.
Julian A. Cullum, 20, of Kingwood, was charged with two counts of carrying a loaded weapon in a vehicle, driving under the influence under age 21 and driving without insurance.
Cullum remained jailed Friday at the Potomac Highlands Regional Jail in Augusta awaiting a hearing before a Mineral County magistrate.
No charges were filed against two passengers.
Police reported that they confiscated a 9 mm High Point handgun and a 45 mm High Point handgun along with assorted loose ammunition located in the vehicle.
A field sobriety test was administered before Cullum was charged with DUI.
Police are investigating the ownership of the wea-pons through the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
Mineral County Sheriff’s Office and a Potomac State College K-9 unit assisted.
