Suspect sought in Meyersdale case - 04/28

SOMERSET, Pa. — A 46-year-old Meyersdale man was being sought by law enforcement Saturday after he allegedly solicited money from some Meyersdale businesses, Pennsylvania State Police said.

David Wayne Brant was being sought as a suspect after he allegedly solicited money from “multiple Somerset County businesses” including Century Concrete in Meyersdale, according to Trooper Christopher P. Allen.

The complaint was filed at 11 a.m., Saturday.

State police urge any business or individual who was solicited for donations by Brant to contact the Somerset barrack at 814-445-4104.

Police said Camp Cadet of Somerset County donation solicitations are made yearly through a mailer in partnership with the Community Foundation for the Alleghenies.

According to police, the Camp Cadet of Somerset County Association “is deeply troubled by this incident and we hope this does not cast a shadow on the overwhelming support we receive from the public every year for an extremely worthwhile and positively life altering endeavor. We cannot express enough gratitude to our supporters.”

Camp Cadet information is available at www.somersetcampcadet.org.
