Teenage racer dies from injuries - 05/20

— NEW ENTERPRISE, Pa. — A 15-year-old competitor racing at the Bedford County Dirt Racers Dirt Drags died Saturday night when control of the quad-racer was lost, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

The incident took place about 8 p.m. Police said the quadracer struck a tire barrier on the side of the track causing the machine to flip. The operator was thrown and struck a light pole. The operator died while medical personnel were attempting to treat the injuries.

Police will continue to investigate, according to Trooper Garry P. Ford.
