Cumberland Times-News

— MIDLAND — About 26,000 pounds of wooden pallets were spilled onto state Route 36 at 7:45 p.m. Friday when a tractor-trailer overturned, according to Maryland State Police.

Authorities said the vehicle is owned by St. Christopher Trucking, Keyser, W.Va., and was being driven by Gregory Cecil Skidmore, Eckhart.

The truck, police said, traveled onto the shoulder near the Mountain View Landfill and when the driver over corrected the rig went onto its side spilling the cargo and causing the highway to be closed for five hours.

There were no injuries. Skidmore was charged. Maryland Department of Environment responded to deal with a fuel spill.
