CUMBERLAND — A domestic assault complaint early Saturday on Wills Creek Avenue led to the arrest of a city woman, Cumberland Police said.
Officers were dispatched to the complaint at 12:01 a.m., prompting arrest of Melissa Raye Cook, 26, on a charge of second-degree assault.
Following a bond hearing, Cook was released on her personal recognizance by a district court commissioner, pending trial in district court.
Police said the arrest was made after officers observed injuries to the victim, who was outside the residence when officers arrived.
The victim apparently did not seek medical treatment.
