— GRANTSVILLE — Two people were injured in an accident on eastbound Interstate 68 and Chestnut Ridge Road just before 9 a.m. Wednesday, according to the Garrett County 911 center.

April Miller of Mcveytown, Pa., and a juvenile were taken to the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center for treatment of unspecified injuries. Both were expected to be treated and released.

Maryland State Police reported a 2012 Chevrolet Malibu operated by Miller reportedly failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of the ramp and Chestnut Ridge Road. The Miller vehicle then struck a 2011 Mitsubishi Lancer operated by the juvenile and also occupied by one passenger who was not identified.

Miller was cited for failing to stop at a stop sign, police said.

Northern Garrett Rescue Squad, Meyersdale EMS and Grantsville Volunteer Fire Department were dispatched to the scene at 8:46 a.m.
