Burlington man injured in Garrett - 07/31

— OAKLAND — A Burlington, W.Va., man was flown to the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center after he was injured in a four-wheeler vehicle accident in the Kitzmiller area, according to the Garrett County Sheriff’s Office.

Scott Schenck, 42, was flown to the hospital by Maryland State Police medevac helicopter after first responders were dispatched to the Kitzmiller Volunteer Fire Department. No information was available concerning his injuries and medical condition.

Deputies responded to the Kitzmiller fire station and were told by volunteers that Schenck was injured when he stopped his Suzuki 400 halfway up a hill. The vehicle rolled over and the rider was ejected before the vehicle ran over him, police said.

The accident reportedly occurred in the Wolf Den Hunting Club area of Kitzmiller.

The victim was treated by the Kitzmiller volunteers, Elk District ambulance and Southern Garrett Rescue Squad prior to being flown to the Cumberland hospital.
