— OAKLAND — A Grant County, W.Va., man was charged with several traffic violations following an accident Monday at Broadford Road and Memorial Drive, according to the Garrett County Sheriff’s Office.

Justin Lee Hanlin, 21, of Mount Storm was charged with driving with an out-of-state license suspended, driving an uninsured vehicle, driving an unregistered vehicle and displaying registration issued to another vehicle following the 11:26 a.m. accident.

A passenger in a vehicle being driven by Elizabeth Ann Fike, 81, of Mountain Lake Park was injured and taken to Garrett Memorial Hospital.

Police said Fike was driving a Chevrolet Impala when she slowed down due to a pedestrian on the side of the road and was struck in the rear by a Dodge Ram truck being driven by Hanlin.

Hanlin, who apparently was not injured, was jailed prior to posting $2,500 bond Tuesday for his pretrial release.
