Thefts, damage reported to police - 10/10

SOMERSET, Pa. — Pennsylvania State Police at Somerset are investigating three theft cases that were reported within the past week and are asking for the public’s help.

Someone broke into the Mountain Man Sport Shop on the Garrett Shortcut Road and removed several handguns, ammunition and cash between 6 p.m. Friday and 8:30 a.m. Saturday.

A theft of two chainsaws occurred at a Meyers Avenue residence in Meyersdale between 9 p.m. Tuesday and 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, police said. The Pioneer 1200 and Johnson Red saws are valued at about $160 total.

About 150 feet of copper-clad steel wire was stolen from Somerset REC on Copper Kettle Highway sometime leading up to midnight on Monday. The wire was valued at $150.

Police are also investigating damage that occurred to the windows of two vehicles parked at 730 Hunter School Road between 6:15 p.m. Friday and 7:10 a.m. Saturday.
