CUMBERLAND — Cumberland Police responded to the 600 block of Fayette Street Thursday after a vehicle struck a wall and curb and continued on without stopping.
Police said the crash was observed by another person who followed the vehicle.
The driver is alleged to have stopped at a residence, got out of the vehicle and started yelling at the witness. Officers at the scene then charged Ashley Morgan Perkins, 29, of Cumberland, with hit and run, driving under the influence and driving while intoxicated. She was released to a family member pending trial in district court.
Police said the collision broke the right front axle to Perkins’ vehicle.
