Lonaconing man injured in hit-run - 09/04

— CUMBERLAND — Sixty-six-year-old Onas Hane-kamp was injured Tuesday when he was struck by a van as he was riding his bicycle on Upper Georges Creek Road near Shaft, Maryland State Police said.

The incident occurred at about 1:50 p.m. and police were seeking a white van that was last seen traveling northbound toward Frostburg following the hit-and-run incident.

Hanekamp reportedly suffered injuries that were not life-threatening, police said.

The suspect vehicle reportedly had no rear windows. A side mirror of the van was broken when the crash occurred, police said.
