OAKLAND — Both drivers who were involved in a rear-end collision Thursday evening in Oakland were taken to Garrett Memorial Hospital, according to Oakland Police.
William Byrne, 50, of Oakland was northbound attempting to turn into a parking lot at 13227 Garrett Highway when he was hit by James Reckart, 80, of Oakland at about 5:40 p.m., police said.
Reckart was found at fault in the accident.
Byrne was released from the hospital, police said, but information about Reckart’s condition was not available.
Both Northern and Southern Garrett rescue squads and Oakland Volunteer Fire Department responded, ac-cording to the Garrett County 911 center.
