RAWLINGS — Richard D. Phillips, 75, of Rawlings, died Friday, May 26, 2006, at Sacred Heart Hospital.

Born March 15, 1931, in Stringtown, Pa., he was the son of the late Alba and Earsa (Hardman) Phillips. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Merrill, Art and Hayden Phillips; and two sisters, Winifred Kolkhorst and Aften Phillips. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

Mr. Phillips was retired from Potomac Edison after 43 years of service. He was a United States Navy veteran having served with the Seabees. He was a member of the Cumberland Moose and he enjoyed gardening.

Surviving are his wife of 27 years, Rose Marie Phillips; two sons, Tobin Phillips and wife Laura, North Carolina, Erik Phillips and wife Kathy, North Carolina; stepson, Stephen Meyers and wife Diana, Cumberland; six grandchildren, Amber Phillips, Amanda Phillips, Kelsey Thompson, Kaitlin Thompson, Nicholas Meyers and wife Sarah and Shad Meyers; one great-grandchild, Hayden; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., Cresaptown, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Private interment services will be held at Sunset Memorial Park.
