FORT ASHBY, W.Va. — Robert Boyd Hout, 65, of Fort Ashby, died suddenly on Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2008 at his home.

Born April 10, 1943 in Cumberland, Md., he was the son of the late William Robert Hout and Pauline Clara (Hartsock) Hout.

A graduate of Fort Hill High School class of 1961, Bob also graduated from the University of Maryland where he earned his Civil Engineering degree. He retired from the West Virginia Department of Highways as a Civil Engineer. Bob was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Fort Ashby. He was past Master and past Worshipful Master of the Kemp Lodge 154 in Mount Savage, Md.

Bob is survived by his wife of 19 years, Judith A. (Giles) Hout; his sister, Rita E. Boutwell and husband Terry, Cumberland; his stepdaughters, Tracey L. Irving, Wiley Ford, W.Va. and Nicole Freels and husband Chad, Worthington, W.Va.; his step grandchildren, Noah Irving, Jordan Irving, Jacob Freels, the twins, Amanda and Samantha Freels; as well as two nieces, Tina E. Mihailovich and husband David and Lisa J. Wilson and husband Scott, and their families, all of Cumberland.

Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com on Saturday, Aug. 30, 2008 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday, Aug. 30, 2008 at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Mark Hickman officiating.

Interment will be in Greenmount Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
