Catherine M. (Clifton) Getson [Cumberland]

— Catherine Marie (Clifton) Getson, 56, of Cumberland, died Thursday, May 1, 2008 at her residence.
Born April 6, 1952 in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Cecil E. and Ruth M. (Witt) Clifton. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Christine M. (Clifton) Johnson and Susan E. (Clifton) Mellott; and one niece, Ashley A. Wilburn.
Ms. Getson graduated from Mount Savage High School in 1970. After graduation she pursued a career in cosmetology. She graduated from the International School of Beauty and was the manager of Athey’s Salon in Cumberland.
Surviving are two sons, Shawn W. Getson and Dana M. Getson, both of Cumberland; her lifelong companion of 26 years, Robert Goehringer; one brother, Cecil E. Clifton and wife Ruby, Minnesota; one sister, Judy M. Shaffer and husband John, Ridgeley, W.Va.; four nephews, Earl G. Johnson and family, Harpers Ferry, W.Va., Eric L. Johnson and family, Ellerslie, James R. Mellott and family, Harpers Ferry and Vance D. Erichsen Jr. and family, Ellerslie; six nieces, Katrina Clifton and family, Brandy Clifton and family, Ricci Clifton and family, Hillary Clifton and family, all of Minnesota; Heather V. Shaffer, Cumberland and Sharday R. Shaffer, Ridgeley.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland (scarpellifh.com) on Monday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Paul Dietz officiating.
Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
